The Revista Brasileira de Entomologia (RBE) is one of the most traditional Brazilian scientific journals about entomology and is maintained by the Sociedade Brasileira de Entomologia (SBE). The journal was created in 1954 and publishes open access papers focused in different areas of the entomology, from taxonomic to applied studies. Constantly evolving, RBE policies have been changing along the last years. It currently publishes one volume per year divided in four issues with no page limitation per volume. Papers are open access with very affordable publication fees to the authors.

About its visibility, impact factor has been increasing in the last years and is now 1.133, higher than traditional journals focused on taxonomic. In this sense, it is an honor to us to have the proceedings of the XIV International Symposium of Neuropterology published as a special issue in RBE. For this reason, we would like to thanks Dr. Gabriel Melo, president of SBE, and Dr. Frederico Salles, chief editor of RBE, for agreeing on this very important step to the Brazilian neuropterology!
